Leigh (@lshfoster) and Ellie (@elliebrigida) are joined by Kait and Anissa from Could Be Gayerrr (@couldbegayerrr) to talk about why Whip It Should've Been Gay. This is a movie about ROLLER DERBY! Come on people! Show us a roller derby team where there are less than 5 LGBTQ players! We talk about the intense and inappropriate chemistry between Iron Maven and Bliss and speculate about Drew Barrymore and Elliot Page's relationship and the steamy kiss they shared for their Marie Claire interview. They even have Marcia GAY Harden in this movie, do we need to say more? We're thankful for our one canon lesbian character, Rosa Sparks, but she should've gotten more screen time and a kiss that was outside of the male gaze. Plus Alia Shawkat and Elliot Page as best friends...this movie can't be straight.
